A day in the life …. Rather a year in the life @ Bottom Line Marketing.
2020! What on Earth?
I was going to write about a day in the life at Bottom Line Marketing, but as I started writing, I thought it would be more fitting to focus on the year as a whole. I’m sure we can all agree that 2020 was not at all what we expected, but I think it’s important to focus on how to round out this year with some success stories and positive forward-thinking.
As the Director of Media at Bottom Line, I work very closely with the Traditional, Social and Digital teams on a daily basis. We drink coffee together in the morning, we are greeted by all our four-legged friends, we have lots of internal meetings and brainstorming sessions for our clients, and we put our heads down and WORK. We strategize, write, create, and negotiate. We treat each other like family, and we know how lucky we are to have our jobs in the current climate.
Everything was put to the test this year. Our patience, our strength, our beliefs, and our trust in humanity. We worried about our health, our finances, our families, and our clients near and far. Doors were closed and then thankfully reopened. We navigated through working from home and really showing up every single day for all of our clients who trust us with their advertising. I’m very proud of our teams for working long hours, canceling and replacing lots of advertising, revising and pivoting in different markets to best suit our clients’ businesses and their needs, fighting hard with lots of love for extra added value and lower rates and not throwing in the towel when things seemed too hard.
So, a day in the life at Bottom Line Marketing is really about showing up every day and putting one foot in front of the other… even when the going gets tough. That’s what 2020 has shown us so far; that we need to continue to do that. One foot in front of the other. Be creative and think outside of the box when it comes to advertising in the middle of a global pandemic. Believe in the good beneath all of the hurdles. Remember that hard work always prevails. Continue to smile. And smile really big, because we can’t hug. Continue to invite people to do business with you. Appreciate them. Appreciate the little things. Send handwritten thank-you notes. Give the best customer service possible to anyone doing business with you, especially during this time. And take deep breaths…. But not too close to anyone without your mask on
We are looking forward to a great and prosperous fourth quarter for our clients, vendors, and partners. Things are getting busier. People are selling their products. We have seen successful campaigns with great ROIs in recent months. People are smiling again. Things are looking up.
When it hasn’t been your day, your month or even your year, Bottom Line Marketing will be there for you.
