Taylor Lanigan: My First Month at BLM

December 7, 2018

I was recommended to apply for the open Admin Assistant position at Bottom Line Marketing from a friend I worked with in radio. I didn’t know anything about Bottom Line, but when I looked at their website I knew I had to get this job. The company culture was fresh and unique. I walked into the office for my interview and was greeted by a white Schnauzer (Frank), I knew this place was for me (side note, my mom has a black and white Schnauzer named Teddy). I felt like it was a sign.

Fast forward and I am already at my first month at BLM. We have moved offices, had a killer Halloween potluck (everyone LOVES to eat around here), and I have learned so much about advertising. Coming from radio, I was only getting one piece of the puzzle. Since starting at Bottom Line I understand it takes all different kinds of advertising to create a comprehensive strategy. When you have traditional, digital and social all working together, that is when the magic happens.

Everyday is different at Bottom Line Marketing. I have helped prepare for a commercial we were shooting. I needed to purchase props and hire extras. One of the props in particular I had to find was a fully cooked turkey with garnishing. It was not an easy task, but everyone in the office was eager to help me find this turkey. I have also been referred to as Taylor Made Printing because I print a ton of new customer letters that go out to our client’s customers. Direct mail does work! (See Kendall’s blog “4th Quarter Musts for Retailers.”)

I am truly inspired by everyone at BLM and their dedication to our clients. I want to learn as much as I can from everyone around me and grow. I am so happy to be apart of this team and I can’t wait to see what the New Year brings.
