Why is Video King?
When I think about the question Why Video? The first thing that pops into my head is “Video killed the radio star” by the Buggles. (Yes, I just aged myself and good luck getting that song out of your head.)
The truth is video didn’t kill radio, it elevated it. Think about the videos you watch the most.
What draws you in?
The music creates a mood and pacing. It alone can give you chills or get you bobbing your head to the beat. Then we add a voiceover or dramatic acting. Anything with Morgan Freeman’s voice pulls my complete attention instantly.
Now let’s add the video elements. Remember watching the final kiss at the end of The Princess Bride? How about the first time you watched Frodo walk through the Shire or the ability to see a man walk on the moon for the first time in history? Video is so fully engrained in our lives that many of us take it for granted.
Video takes us to places we may never actually get to set foot. Video helps teach us about anything we want to know. Video makes us laugh, cry, feel joy. It makes us irritated, angry and even motivates us to fight for what we believe in.
Every video you watch has the goal to evoke an emotion in you. The stronger that reaction the more likely a viewer will remember the message and the business.
Video is NOT going anywhere. Did you know…
– More than 500 MILLION hours of videos are watched on YouTube each day.
– Over half of video content is viewed on a mobile device.
– Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video compared to 10% when reading it in text alone.
– By 2019, internet video traffic will account for 80% of all consumer Internet traffic.
It’s our job at Bottom Line Marketing to create videos that keep your business top of mind. We do it by making viewers laugh, by making them sing and dance to your jingle and by breaking through the other noise to hear about your fun event. We make you the star because when the viewer makes an emotional connection to you and your business they are significantly more likely to enter your doors when they are ready to make a purchase. For us, it’s all about bringing them into your doors.
I can’t wait to see you at our next video shoot!
