On our team call this week we asked everyone to share one thing from their vision board for 2022. We have a big team with people of all different ages and backgrounds yet there was a common theme in everyone’s goals for the year ahead. What came up the most was being “consistent” and “being present.”
2021 brought a lot of people hard and unsettling times, not knowing what direction the world was going in next. I think many of us are craving some balance and consistency while planning out the year ahead. Personally, my main goal is to be more present in everything I do, both in my personal and professional life.
Being present.
What does that mean? Being in the present moment or the “here and now” means that we are aware and mindful of what is happening at this very moment. We are not distracted by ruminations on the past or worries about the future, but centered in the here and now. “The present moment is the only thing where there is no time.”
Sounds good right?
Maybe, but not so easy in practice. When working for a full service advertising agency, it can be a challenging task to master. There are so many moving parts, lots of clients with different goals and marketing objectives. We have to constantly think ahead but also look back in the past to see what worked and what didn’t. We always need to be on our toes, ready to pivot and solve problems when needed.
At Bottom Line Marketing, we are committed to do all of those things and more for our clients. I believe that we can continue to adhere to these principles and accomplish our goals while practicing being more present, both at work and at home. In fact, I think this will enhance our work for clients.
I am going to focus on being mindful when I am with my 10 month old daughter, starting with being more present in her development while we play and read. I’m going to take a page from Elisabetta’s book and laugh a lot and sleep when I’m tired and grumpy; Learn something new everyday and revel in all the wonders of the world. When I am at work I will “be” there doing the best I can, developing new strategies for our clients, and give myself and our employees more patience and grace. My hope is that we will all have a better 2022 by living with more presence and consistency within it.
Cheers to all of our clients. We look forward to a prosperous year of business for all and enjoying the little things with our family and friends along the way.
